All at once an unexpected commotion broke out. It started with the muffled call of a girl emerging from somewhere out of sight. "What shall we do with these? Before the adults could react, a yelping and skittering announced the playful arrival of the family dog, pushing his way into the room at the sound of a familiar voice.
