Description

Thank you for all the wonderful comments hugs Dee Fun Facts about Swans Swans are grumpy, especially when they’re protecting their eggs or babies. They attack other birds that enter their territory. They’ve even attacked dogs or kids that came too close. After swans scare off other birds, they flap their wings and call to each other in celebration – sort of like a swan high-five! Swans live everywhere but Africa and Antarctica. Swans in Australia and South America are black or black and white. Socrates thought swans sang the most beautiful songs right before they died. This is why a last performance is sometimes called a “swan song.” http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3530256/Touching-moment-injured-swan-hugs-man-saved-life-remarkable-gratitude-knew-caring-arms.html#i-a770ea8a8f3f6f87

Reunited years later, the bird has not forgotten the act of kindness and was captured displaying its gratitude.

'I pulled it to my chest and somehow it felt comfortable or safe, and within minutes it just surrendered itself. It literally took its neck and wrapped it around mine

Great image you've created. it's also true with geese! they make better watchers than dogs. I've no doubt that swans could be the same.
Cool picture and story as well

Birds in general are ornery at the best of times! Fun Fact. 16 magpies on the hedge outside your window will wake you up at 5 am guaranteed.

But if a beautiful spirit takes the shape of a swan and offers you its love, should you accept it? A most wonderful image! Bravo!

Beautiful photo. Yes, they remember. BUT, experience has taught me to keep my distance. Yes, let them come to take food from your hand, but don't approach them. However, they, like many other animals, do remember, and show their gratitude, often unexpectedly. Thanks for the post! Heart warming! Keep up the good work! :-)

very sweet render and so well done. there was no ponds near and the closest creek was a mile away that flooded into my mother's yard several times.

I rescued a Malamute dog from a shelter where it was so skinny and malnourished . before it gained weight I picked him up for some reason or other. I guess he was so happy that he put his legs on my shoulders like he was trying to hug. he knew when I was coming home a 1/2 block away. I think it recognized the sound of the truck I had then
