Description

I took this photo inside Notre-Dame-de-Paris, at the very heart of our capital city, some time last year. This is to pay tribute to this 86-year-old priest whose throat was slit yesterday morning, as he was celebrating Mass. A highly symbolical and horrendous murder committed in the name of a religion whose very name means 'peace' in Arabic...This is also to pay tribute to the 100,000 Middle East Christians that lose their lives this way or another, every year, according to the Vatican ....Thank you very much for your nice comments and visits to my gallery .

une superbe photo à l'éclairage exceptionnel. Tes mots sont tout aussi magnifiques. Je suis de retour de vacances et je viens d'apprendre que la messe est célébrée aujourd'hui. Je crois que certains seraient bien inspirés d'apprendre l'arabe pour comprendre le sens véritable de leur religion ! Espérons que cet attentat sera le dernier !

Viewed in itself, this is a warm photo capture with warm golden lighting, though the way the statue's facial features are hidden in shadow adds a touch of pathos.

There are frankly a lot of things to be said about the 'religion of peace'. Most of them not very nice. It just makes you wonder what the whole world is coming to. Rest in peace, Father Jacques Hamel.
