Description

A noble son of Cadsandria, Argimiliar's free-wheeling capital and the greatest center of learning outside Imrryr of Melnibone, Mordoc is a fanatical priest of the Lord of Law; Donblas the justice maker. The real driving force behind the Donblas' Pride and her antagonism in the campaign, he wields the potent "staff of dawn", a lawful device of destructive power equal to chaotic sorcery! For those unfamiliar with Michael Moorcock's work, in the Young Kingdoms the higher powers (i.e. gods) are not divided into groups of "good" and "evil", but into "law" and "chaos"; with both groups representing aspects of both good and evil. While most people would assume that law, representing order and stability, equates to good, it also represents oppression and stagnation. Chaos, which does include disorder and anarchy, also fosters creativity and opportunity. This was a revolutionary concept in the early '60s when Moorcock wrote the Elric/Stormbringer series of novels.
