Description
My stepmother-in-law sculpted this bust of me many years ago. She wasn't a professional artist - she was a retired school teacher who had started taking clay sculpting classes & she enjoyed making busts of family & friends & gifting it to them. Although I appreciated the thought & work that went into it & I think it is a pretty good likeness of what I looked like in my 30's or 40's, I was never quite sure what to do with it. It would feel really weird to me to display a bust of myself in our house (maybe if I was a Roman emperor?). So it has just sat in the garage all these years, currently on top of a freezer, next to a bust of my wife's father.
It has grown kind of blotchy & textured over the years. Not sure if that's because of the way she finished it or if there's anything I can do to reverse that (not that I'd necessarily want to), but it got me thinking about exploiting the blotchiness to create a couple of filtered versions of this photo, which I will post next...

So what you're saying is that you've been busted?

Agree with Andrea... A fun look at yourself through your mother-in-law's eyes.
