Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

You got a fine view of the inside. Now, just WHAT is hiding in there? The ferns and leaves give a good idea of how large this is. Nice work with the colors. Keep up the good work! :-)

A brilliant image and a wonderful habitat Bill.

Super shot, I think its a fairy place. Although I have just watched Stranger Things, there was something like this on there where the baddies were xx

Nice maelstrom of patterns and textures here in this cool Fuji foto, replete with fronds and leaves. Reminds me of a waterfall towards the left. And, a troll definitely lives in that deep dark hollow.

Well that does it. I just have to start commenting earlier. Everyone already took all my lines! If this were a movie of a certain genre this would be a portal to another world. A really well done image. Great color, light and texture.

Looks like an exciting place to take some shots. Love this capture.

You wrote "Our old stump is a mere shell of its old self". Is this in LARC? Is this on your grounds? You said "our" like this was on your property...Well wherever it is, the contrast of bright light on the 'frames' of this opening, with the deep dark in the hollow, is beautiful. You really caught the feeling of looking into a deep, dark cavern. A hollow. The detail inside is beautiful. And you captured/cropped it so that some branches are hanging down into the pic, from above: Beautiful; like several bangs on a human. (Gang bangs. I just thought of that...god I'm witty!) And the 'frames' for the hollow---ie, the two big chunks of wood, far left and right, make a grand doorway to this mysterious recessed space. You caught its essence. A beautiful, rich photo of a mini-world. With wonderful light. Gives life to the myth of the forest primeval...
(Bill, I'm skipping around in your gallery: s I told Tara, I write long and slow, and the slow part is as inhibiting as the long, because it takes me a long time to do one of these comments. So covering every image I haven't commented on, during an absence, is impossible. So I try to get a representative sample. Just know that I see everything, and sit with everything. I don't miss an upload, despite my less thorough commenting.
