the South was wrong having slaves, but my opinion, the majority of soldiers fighting for the South never owned a slave. was there only because of wealthy landowners that convinced them it was the thing to do

I've always been interested in the US Civil War. The Ken Burns documentary is one of my favorite documentaries not only on the Civil War but one of my favorite historical documentaries.
I purchased history book, Blood & Daring which is about Canada's involvement in the US Civil War. My Dad enjoyed it so much, he read it twice within a month after me purchasing it.. The author claims 40,000 Canadians fought in the Civil War on both sides... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/books-and-media/book-reviews/new-history-documents-canadas-surprising-role-in-us-civil-war/article12559597/

That seems to be the way it always works... Sad but true. A great photo of this memorial, Richard!
