Description
the time when Hermes had found his Pygmalion
I learned a little more about Joanna through her biography that Renderosity shared. I was touched by her courage and talent, especially during her art studies, environment in which these qualities are often lent to men.
As the statue of Hermes was the symbol of one of her first successes, I thought the re-stage in this tribute to Joanna.
Pliny the elder says that the daughter of the potter Butades would have postponed the outline of the shadow of her lover on the wall to keep the memory;thus inventing the origin of painting and explaining our need to keep images of loved ones.
I imagined here that Hermes taking life touched by the love that Joanna placed in art, take her gently the pencil from Hand and attempt in turn to draw the outline of one that made shine the arts. This is only a graphic dream, of course,Hermes already fades in twilight.
However I like to think that each of our images making her tribute, managed this attempt to the impossible: to engrave in the wall of our memory the outlines of one that was this beautiful soul.
