Description
This is my first attempt to create a new character from high quality pictures. It is not as easy as I thought it would be. I used Blacksmith version 6 with a set of photos from 3DScans.sk website. The base model was Mei Lin and I morphed her to approximate the shape of the real model. That was easy. The next step, the texturing of the skin from the photos that was really difficult. Blacksmith is a very easy software to use and very powerful, but the biggest problem was with the photos. Although they are of professional quality, slight differences in lighting made the skin changes tone easily from diferente angles. This is not a big deal with the face and the torso, but the limbs (arms and legs) are the most difficult parts. As you can see in the render (rendered in Daz Studio 4.9 with iray) there are many problems in the leg regions and a little less in the arms.
I will think in another approach to get really realistic textures.
