Description
The competition entitled: Photo From The Attic.
A back story was also requested for... so I wrote the following...
Pink Lips
Grandma passed away one summer. We were'nt close she and I... but I loved my Grandpa and he was heartbroken. I hugged him as hard as I could to try and squeeze out every bit of sadness. Teary-eyed, he looked at me and thanked me.
"Did you know that you and Nana have a lot in common?" he asked softly and smiled.
"Really? All she ever asked me to do were chores and to lower my .... " I stopped myself from complaining further as soon as I saw him chuckle.
He asked me to follow him up the attic where he kept all his most valued treasure... which to me were mostly junk by any normal teenager's standard these days.
There was the bullet that almost ended his life in Nam... Vietnam I think it was... he called it his treasured memories.
He kneeled down precariously as he seemed to be grovelling on all fours and reaching for something in the dark. I turned on my mobile light to help him see better.
Grinning he said, "Ah! Found it!"
When he pulled it out... it was a small little biscuit tin rectangular in shape and corroding in the edges. He blew the dust off the top and prised it open.
"Here, this is what I wanted to show you... your Grandma when I first met her."
++++++++++++++++ End?++++++++++++++++
I had an idea to what I wanted to do... not another black n white, wanted it in colour and sort o discoloured.
Also not another photo without a frame... so I added a crack in the glass frame too. Post work was hell but a lot of fun.
