Description

Well, a scene in the 80ies on the Russian carrier Kiew. A Yak-38 is landing vertically... It was the glory age of the Soviet Navy and their naval aviation. A lot of speculation was written in western media about the Yak-38. Some wrote that the Yak-38 could take off vertically only. Just some month later the Soviets showed it could take off with a short run too, like the Harrier. It was the time when we knew little what was going on behind the iron curtain...

Very nice work on this one. The variety of deck crew really makes this one! I've always been intrigued by the Yak-38. It's one of those aircraft that received scant notice and was overshadowed by more popular western models. I also like the use of more than one type of aircraft. Detail work and textures are terrific as always!
