Description

Macro of a fly. I believe I used extension tubes with my Sigma 105mm macro lens for this one. Taken on 8/9/11 Was a 2nd place winner in a macro contest at Photos2Win.com (unfortunately the site shutdown back in 2012).

Did it know that it won 2nd prize? I'm always amazed at the detail in such small creatures. I often wonder what they are good for, but each creature has its niche and purpose in nature even if I don't understand it. You even have the facets of its eyes visible in the photo. Great job! Keep it up! :-)
