That day, I counted six of these beetles (Rose chafer) on the same flower!
There is a little grain in this photo due to the distance of shooting, and the magnification ... but I think it is interesting ...
Ce jour-là, j'ai pu compter six cétoines sur une même fleur!
Il y a un peu de grain sur cette photo du fait de la distance de prise de vue, donc du grossissement... mais je pense qu'elle est intéressante...
Some comments talk about "Japanese beetle".
There is a relationship between the Japanese beetle and rose chafer (Cétoine in french) of my picture, they are both beetles (Coleoptera) ... but there are 400,000 species of beetles on the Earth!
The rose chafer is larger (20-25 mm /about 1 inch), its color is metallic green with thin ocher streaks.
It is often seen in the roses. Unlike the Japanese beetle, the rose chafer is not very common and poses no problem for agriculture.
