I was born and raised in the "South Bay" before it became "Silicon Valley". I went to Cal State Hayward and graduated with a B.A. in Art. I went back to school at the local JC and got my degree in technical illustration. For the next 25 years I worked as an illustrator and graphic artist at a hand-full of high tech companies. As of December 2012 I officially retired from the "Rat Race". I now have time for my art. Even though I have been a member of the Renderosity community for about 3 years, it has been a silent partnership on my part. I have been enjoying everone else's "Labors of Love" without giving anything in return. That will change.

Excellent reflections in the image and words. Sage advice, my friend.. Life is short, and we don't know what's around the next corner. Make the most of life, every day.
I think I'm starting to get DS's lighting figured out, more or less. Is the BG an HDRI on the dome?
Awesome work as always, Dave!

Hey Dave! get you perfectly about this sort of stuff. Great render and composition. There's nothing like a desert to bring on the feelings of isolation. Nice little model too!

Great render of a surreal desert scene with superb lighting and texturing, but I'm very disappointed that the two big, round things are covered up.
As I see it, if we limit our awareness to the physical aspect of existence, life is indeed senselessly tragic. But I've read and heard enough to be persuaded there's far more to life than the mere biological functioning of the physical body. Here I desist from preaching any specific religious doctrine; I merely encourage you to keep looking -- as in perusing and exploring the words of those who have seriously explored and inquired into such matters. The truth is out there... and quite possibly also in here.
