Description
Amidst a day of savage weather, we briefly stopped the chase to capture probably the most amazing sunset I had ever seen. Mammatus clouds are trapped bubbles of cool air usually associated with severe thunderstorms that hang beneath the Anvil of a storm. 10 minutes after this we were inside the storm getting hammered by large hail and a stroboscopic lightning display.

Fabulous image, that's very well taken. I hope to go storm-chasing myself in 2018, so it's inspiring to see these.

Astonishing sunset and fine photography.

Awesome capture.

Fantastic sky & outstanding photo. I've only seen these types of mammatus clouds once & it was a dark gray day - it looked ominous, but wasn't followed by any weather drama...

I've seen these a couple of times and I think they're very disturbing to the eye. Great shot though.

Wow, cool.
Digital has made photos like this SO much better to capture. Film just didn't have the dynamic range, and everything was either shadowed or washed out. HDR was the only option. Anyway, amazingly beautiful photo. Love it.
