Let's start with the graininess. It looks like you are rendering in IRAY. If that is the case then you need to burn the image for a longer period of time (I would also render at a slightly smaller size maybe 1920 x 1080 dpi). Depending on the quality of your Nvidia graphics card this image could take anywhere from 25 min. to several hours to complete to your eye's liking. If you don't have an Nvidia card, which IRAY needs for full GPU function, then your computer will slowly render no matter how fast it is.

Well I can render as large as I want in poser and have it look wonderful, so yet another reason to just stick with poser I guess.

think it is the light or surface settings but not sure as I myself have just started putting forth the effort to learn DAZ myself, prefer Poser but had a hard drive failure and decided it was the time for the switch to DAZ. Think I would check the quality setting for the render too, making sure it is high.
do like the scene.

Fantastic scene and beautiful character! Sometimes you have to adjust the pose to fit the outfit or Select the item or area (ie. waist or thigh of the item) then in Posing/Shaping you should be able to adjust the Parameters of the item, sometimes though you can't.

I also learned on Daz (many, many years ago) then I switched to Poser. This new Daz is total confusion. I use it to render single figures now and then, but that's about it.

Great scene comp !!!! All of the above suggestions are good. Plus, if you are rendering in IRAY, you want to be sure that all of your texture sets are IRAY, as well. Also, try using a third party light set, too. Elianeck has some excellent ones in the DAZ marketplace.

marvelous

Superb pov for this fantastic steampunk scene, excellent!

Great concept and image. Couple of things, in the render settings up the minimum samples (in the progressive tab) up to about 36, Maximum samples up to max, time right up, and render quality up to 2. Hope this helps. With the knee, try the transfer utility and pick the dress in the projection templates.

Great composition!
I use daz and blender only because they are free.
Don't move anything else except for these settings unless you absolutely have too...
There are a lot of surfaces in this render so it is a heavy task for Iray.
Your render settings are not letting the render complete. The lighting is high enough that it should render fine. Increase Max iterations from the default 5000 (progressive rendering tab in render settings). In Iray, in many cases, this is not enough for a final render. Also max time by default is 7200 secs. that's 2 hrs to most of us. I don't have a great computer and in most cases it takes at least 6 hrs to get a finish render.
For darker renders you may have to adjust other things like ISO, f stop and shutter.
Have Fun!
