BIO-HAZARD
Born in King's Cross,NSW Australia. My parent's were German and split up when I was 12 months old, unfortunately my Father died young, so what ! . I have liked drawing & painting for-ever. When I saw an Amiga 500 with a ray-traced juggler, I was hooked !!! I left High School then joined a Rock'n'Roll band and toured the East Coast of OZ as Road crew. Then I played Lead & Rhythm guitar in my own band's, EASTERN UNDERGROUND(Sydney), FLASHBACK (Noosa), SAXON DOG"S & STEEL RAIN (Gold Coast). I worked as a Cameraman at the Gold Coast Turf Club. And a lot of my "in-between" footage got beamed all over the Planet on Sky Channel, So if you're ever are in a TAB (betting agency Oz style) and see pic's of cloud's, pelican's or chick's tit's then you'll know, it was my footage ! I won a $5,000 scholarship for 3D Animation, at Silicon Studio's Training Center-Brisbane. Did a Multi-Media course at Kingscliff TAFE. Lightwave 8.5 is my choice of weapon, with Poser 6, Vue 6 Extreme and Zbrush 3. One day I will be doing 3D for a living...I hope ! You will find, that most of my art has a weird and twisted sense of humour to it, life's pretty straight without 'twisties' !
...Cheers fellow artists...Jeff :o)
UP-DATE:2011...WOOHOO...I made piccy of the day at E-on (Vue) and I'm stoked, my experimentation, persistance and learning new techniques paid off.

I think she's going to need a bigger gun if she's going to take these beasts on.
Great scene

Well composed image. I love how the image not being perfectly level adds a dimension of action to the render...

Yep she needs a Bigger Gun a BIG Fu@#ing Gun for these Beasties, I'd lend her my .50 cal Desert Eagle but not sure that's even Big enough. Cool scene Jeff super job.....was there ever any doubt you'd Pass, I never doubted it for a second.
Nah The Tragically Hip wasn't about my situation although it is a tragidy we have to wait so long for any action from the VA

I like every element individually. Good creature (and you're right -- "Violent Hyena" is an AWESOME name!). Great costume on her, and the set is wonderfully detailed (love that moss and the tree stump). But it's not coming together for me. I'm not sure if it's the lighting (I actually like brightly lit scenes -- too many of us fall back on heavy shadows that obscure details) or the POV or... just something. I would suggest trying a slightly lower POV (just a bit -- I do like the camera tilt) and maybe moving the creature closer to her, so that it is more apparent that it's sniffing her out. Plus, we would get to see more of the amazing detail on the armor. and maybe (just maybe) move the sun a little bit, or add some haze between her wall and the back wall, so that the two don't blend together so much. Or, on the extreme, a little DOF trickery twixt foreground wall and background? Anyway, I'm only nitpicking because I love your work. This is a great illustration to start with. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Violent Hyenas ? - Violent Femmes ? somehow, this rings a bell... I am not really so much attached to guns and war stuff thingies - but what a cool outfit she is sporting there (if you can call that an outfit - LOL), but it sure looks like a mix of 'Ye olde Hippy' and when we used to play 'Cowboys and Indians' and that wasn't so bad at all ... this costume is better !
Mr 'mmitchell_houston' makes a couple of interesting points there, and I think he is on to something, but it's overall good - as 'Dogs of War' can ever be good ? LOL - and thank heavens 'HE' finally marked your assignment !

These "puppies" are so misunderstood.......................Sweet render!

Firstly congratulations on passing your assignment, you will be very pleased after having to wait so long. Excellent detail in this great scene. I hope she doesn't have to engage with those large critters. A shame to mess up her stunning outfit. Superb work with great posing and lighting.
Madbat
Yeah, those are "Dogs of Oh Crap!" Grat's on passing!

Fantastic work. I'd be doing more hiding than fighting, though, if it were me in that situation.
