Description

This is a flight I did yesterday approaching Diamond Hill Road with the drone, and showing just how sadly the plazas are really empty now this day and age. Sears is struggling like everything else in that area, and it is sad to realize that alot of these retail places will probably NEVER be rented again.

Thanks Richard. Glad you like them and have you along for the ride. Just out of curiosity, what settings do you use on your cameras for aerial shots? Do you use RAW so you can edit them later? I usually try the VIVID setting on my drone....to me works out nicely, and when I want to I touch them up afterwards. Have a good one and thanks for riding along again! 😁

Beautiful shot. Sad situation. Where have all the customers gone to? And where haave the businesses gone to, leaving this desert behind? Malls and shopping centers like this used to be THE place to shop inexpensively. Have people moved? Lost their jobs in the region? What's going on? Keep up the good work! Sure, if you can send the Taco up here! :-)

Its a shame how the area just seemed to dwindle over the years. People are still plentiful, businesses, not so much sadly. 😞

It really becomes evident how deserted these places can be when seen from above. Nice clear shot.

In the Kansas City metro area, there are 2 malls that are still doing fairly well. There used to be 10 not that many years ago. The day of the big indoor malls is past, I'm afraid. Now, everything is strip malls and "shopping villages." There used to be a big mall just across I-70 from where I live. It's now a Walmart, Lowes and a small strip mall.
