Description
...he was!
This Image is a tribute to my all beloved Cat Felix who died this summer on June 28th unexpectedly. He was really a comforter in all situations. Whenever a nightmare scared me in the night and I woke up all sweaty with a heart racing like heck, or if sorrows and fears made me staying awake all night I could feel his warm fury body beside me on my bed and i could hear him quietly breathe. Sometimes I heard him even snoring, and it was so comforting (unlike my snoring). If I touched him, the snoring changed into a gentle purring which could spread so much peace. Whenever I was sad he came to me gave me a head boop, looked with his lovely big eyes at me, meowed and talked, curled up beside me and purred loudly. He was such a friend, such a soul mate, so that it went without saying, that I had to do a texture for the Millennium Cat, which represents his Fur pattern. Even, if he is not with me in this life anymore, he shall be with me in some of my renders every now and then. A tribute he is more than worthy of.
In this Render he is greatly comforting "Jojo"
Felixs fur made with the "Look at my hair" Plugin
Jojo's hair is: "Katharina Hair"
Surrounding is: "Mini Haven"
"Running Shoes 3 for Genesis 2 & 3"
Vest of the "Mall Girl for Genesis 3 Female(s)"
All available at DAZ3D
I wanted to use the "Peachfuzz" and the "Oh my Brows" for Jojo, but due to the Fact, that Felixs Fur is an OBJ-File with thousands of hairs, any additional "fiber hairs" where a memory overload for my computer with only 8 Gigs of Ram... :-(
Further more I'm not yet satisfied with how the tears came out. Still need to experiment a little.
rendered with DAZ-Studio 4.8 and IRAY (No postwork)
Hope ya like it!
Any Comments are welcome as usual and thank you for all the kind comments on my previous renders
Cheers

They leave a gap in your life when they go. Lovely dedication for your furry friend.

I wish I could do this for some cats of mine that are no longer here.
FurNose
I just could do it, because the pattern (black/white) is relatively simple (not much color tones in between and no blending patterns but rather clear "sharp" lines) and because I have some programs where I can paint directly on the model surface, without caring about UV-seams. In my case I took the Blacksmith3D, but I could've used Carrara as well and there are some more, I don't own (such as C4D-Bodypaint, or Autodesk Mudbox and so on).

great work....I really like the cat (and your tribute). The LAMH work looks terrific. I might have to buy it next sale.
FurNose
When you buy the Plugin, Eric, your first thing you probably will want is going to this site and get some free presets! These help you extremely in starting with LAMH and you get some good presets for a quick render without having to do all the work from the scratch.

Was wabout to say great and cute scene, and then I saw the first line of the text... sorry for you :( , I've lost my dog soulmate almost two years ago and I know that very well...
ps : Wanted to say thanks to your little note about Lahm in a comment :) , great to know it can still be used on a 8 Gb ram PC (that's what I had last year, so I know what kind of frustrations you can go through, on complex scenes). I'm still worried about the Vram (for iray, so sure how it does "weight" on the vram), but I might get it next time it on on sale, thank you for the tip !

Golly this is image sends two beautiful statements !
First the sadness and grief one feels of losing a precious pet and secondly the affection of remembering all the good times.
What a gorgeous tribute to your wonderful friend, companion and soulmate Felix.
Fantastic work and presentation, well done.

So sorry to hear of your loss. My own cat passed away several years ago, but I still miss him even today. Lovely scene, summing up your wonderful tribute!

This is a beautiful and a loving tribute to your cat, Felix. Recently, I have heard a wise comment from an aunt who said that our loved ones who passed on before us just went away earlier but we will all have the same destination, it is only time that separates us. But in time, they will be there when we're ready to meet them again. For now, we can only remember them and the goodness of those times they were with us.
