Description

Poser, Carrara & Rhino . . . . the Early Days! I have been spending the past week cleaning out my office and pitching all of my out dated stuff. Well, I pitched all of the out dated stuff, with the exception of ME! I am starting to get a little dated, myself! But anyway, I was going through some of my backup files from the days when I did a lot of product design and illustration in my home based business, when I came across this illustration. It is a scene I was asked to put together for my then customer at a local office furniture manufacturing company. It was to illustrate his modular table and shelving components, that I had designed for him in Rhino 3D. He wanted to present them, in an office environment, to his marketing staff. The modular components and lobby were all modeled in Rhino. The characters are from whatever the latest version of Poser was, in September of 2000. The chairs, sofas, plant, lamps and drinking fountain are all from content that came with Ray Dream Designer. All of it was assembled and rendered in Carrara. The periodicals were added in Photoshop, afterwards. This scene is very simple, by today’s standards. But, in September of 2000, it was impressive enough for my customer to get his project funded, manufactured and out to market. Thanks for looking . . . . . . . . . . . .

Cool to see some old school. My older Poser 4 stuff is almost all gone in the wind now. Things have definitely advanced. I wonder what the next decade will yield? Much less, what a 100 years may yield. Of course the 100 year projection, we might be back to painting on cave walls with charcoal burnt sticks.
