Description
H2IC Shawnee
This helicopter took museum volunteers over 7 years to restore. Volunteers replaced 80% of the sheet metal, 100,000 rivets, replaced all the plexiglass and gave it a coat of paint, as well as restored several of the honeycomb blades. The H21C Shawnee was used in 50s and 60s during the early part of the Vietnam War but was replaced by the Chinook which is even larger yet.
