Description

In spite of regular concerted attacks by an army of volunteers, this stand of Indian or Himalayan Balsam at Coy Pond continues to thrive and increase. These flowers are screaming for sex..."Come and fertilise me!" The only good thing about this alien invader is that it supplies a great food source for insects late into the Autumn, and in this photo Here you can one of the willing collaborators with the enemy.

Superb capture! Almost orchid like blooms, but well down on popularity charts these days. I remember squeezing the ripe seed pods as a kid to make them explode in every direction! No wonder It has spread everywhere!

They do look beautiful, even when they are shouting.

Screaming for sex? So they have some human traits. They are quite attractive. Someone once said there are no weeds only plants humans don't want.
