Your more recent work has become more 'simplified' and even geometric in portions...and you've used patterns exquisitely, in combination with your always beautifully conceived portraits. The black and white lines, here, are thick; and they 'radiate' at us, like neon lights in the night. But you've followed them right into the woman's body: Very fine design work, Yves.

As part of the simplification of forms that you've used in some of your recent work, you show us her arms and one leg via nothing but white outlines: They're exquisitely simple shapes which "speak" for the complexity of arms, legs, etc. And---for the accent-du-jour---you give her face and head beautiful full reds, with some green, orange and gray,. (Her hat is outlined in gray, which is wonderful contrast with all your powerful hues, here---a very intuitive choice.)

Finally, one eye is hidden---mystery---and her hat has that panache you so often put into your work: It bends and folds like a dancer. And the left half of the painting? Sheer black. (To balance all the white.) Brilliant. A wonderful piece.

VERY NICE ! ! ! ! ! ! Reminiscent of Patrick Nagel, one of my most favorite artists...... Struck down way too soon in his life, from a heart attack!
