A wonderful piece that implies simplicity but was probably quite difficult to execute. Well done. :)

The eyes have it in this most unusual birthday rendering for jock500, Yves. I want to kiss her.

More of your dialogue with abstraction and formal shapes, etc...a wonderful mix of a human face with very wide "brushstrokes": I don't know if I'm using the correct words, here...but it's as if you painted this woman onto paper (or support) with a broad, thick brush; and, magically, it deposited her image on a totally black surface. (Or else: You painted thick black strokes across the paper, but left her eyes, nose and lips to "peek through" the darkness.) Either way, it's a marvelous play of light and dark; face and oblivion; and diagonal strokes rushing across the gaze of a woman...
The woman's eyes have green in them; and her lips are a deep red: Again, you use minimal colors very effectively. Otherwise it's all black lines, with a few dabs of bright white; and it's all painted on a flesh-colored background----which is "interrupted" by the broad black strokes. And...I love the grey bands on the top and bottom.
Perfectly done, Yves. Another masterful painting.
