After their unexpected arrival at the old mansion Elenoir and Nevil have unpacked, changed clothes and invited Hailey to join them in the parlor. Elenoir is still talking “And how is the library work going? Found any first folios or Gutenberg bibles? You look so tense Hailey, let me rub your shoulders.” Her fingers seem to close around Hailey’s throat for a second or two. “Isn’t Hailey so sweet, Nevil? Wouldn’t you just love to have her to live with?
