Description

Hi dear friends, Because I got a message from iborg64 (regarding my uploads on the unknown caterpillar dated 13 September for Juliette.Gribnau), I remembered that I had this butterfly since Aug. 1 on my desktop. I couldn't find its name. After Karel helped me, we now suspect it is one of the Lymantriidea family (monacha?). In any case, the size is about 4-5 cm. It was so strange where I discovered this specimen, namely along a busy highway in the city. To be precise, it was at the bottom of the window of a pizza restaurant. This must be a real delicacy, ha ha: "Would you like pizza with (bear) butterflies"? Anyway, I always notice the smallest things; I think, already hundreds of people had walked by, also Karel didn't noticed the butterfly. And now I'm curious what kind it will be. Thank you in advance very much. byw, My next upload is another picture from the same butterfly.

I saw the other picture first knowing an aprox size may help (or not LOL) looking at moths in my books based on your suggestion of Lymantriidea family (monacha?). Im not convinced that is the correct identification however still can not find a good match
