Description
Another one of several variations of torture I created for these pretty flowers, the original captured sometime in 2006. I've done a multitude of them. Gotta have fun sometime, with more to come.

There's your signature low-angle sunlight again, it does make for some wonderful shadowplay! Great work, Harry.

I'm happy to see, as I look through older work, that I've commented on a lot of these; I'm just sorry I haven't been here much since, and there's still much I haven't commented on. This is a fine black and white piece---actually gray, as well. An intense treatment, making these a study, a penetrating study. And the shadows are brought forward with real strength, as are the strong lights. In this treatment, your ubiquitous daisies appear very serious and introspective, even aggressive. You've gotten a huge array of feeling and 'personalities' in this daisy series; this is one of the most stark and contrasted. And you got a graininess here that makes this feel like an artifact too. Terrific work, Harry. This series has been a constant stream of revelations. I'm at 50 minutes, and I have to stop because I'm getting tired; and I'm embarrassed that I've only done 7 images in that time---I'm slower than usual right now. But it was long overdue, and I'll try to get here again before too much more time passes. I did see your plow, btw, and agreed with (I think) your son (or someone) that one doesn't see that often in the middle of a big city; I loved the solo presentation of it, and the color contrasts. I'll get to it and others next time. I wish you rest and healing. I'm sorry this has been such a difficult time for you; take care by all means...
