It took me a long time to figure out what is going on in this render and I couldn't have done it without the title. In my humble opinion: drop the swan and the oil platform and add some purely landscapy focus in place of the swan. I realize that the swan and platform are the focus of the picture, but without them you have a stylized landscape with a compelling mix of colors. Of course, some of the colors I find compelling are actually the oil spill, but they could be something else. In other words, I think the basic layout of this rendering is great, but the specific scene that you are going for doesn't work. You are going for dire ecological disaster, and I see beautiful, somewhat stylized landscape.
