The Lotus Esprit is a sports car that was built by Lotus in the United Kingdom between 1976 and 2004. The silver Italdesign concept that eventually became the Esprit was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1972 as a concept car, and was a development of a stretched Lotus Europa chassis. It was among the first of designer Giorgetto Giugiaro's polygonal "folded paper" designs. Originally, the name Kiwi was proposed, but in keeping with the Lotus tradition of having all car model names start with the letter "E", the name became Esprit.

HA! Yes, I can see why they called it "folded paper" :-) That was the first that occurred me, the sharp edges all over. Looks very odd :) Beautiful shots all 4. :)

The "Wedge" design became very common by the middle 70s all the way through to the early 80s. Though this body style was a bit extreme for its time,it was later copied by all the major car manufacturers. This design proved to be sleek, sporty and very aerodynamic which aided in reducing gas consumption. How about that mustard yellow paint, similar to my 71 Dodge Challenger. Your postwork is noted. The photos are terrific !
