Description

Again while walking the riverbank I heard the unmistakable sound of the Chinook Chopper! I actually managed to get a few shots of it as it flew overhead

Since we have Ft Carson in our city, I get to see many choppers about. Cool and thanks for sharing hro. Enjoy the small remainder of the weekend.

It sounds like you very much enjoyed your staycation. I hope you get to do it again in the not too distant future.

a number of years ago after 911 I was at a local air museum which is at Love Field Dallas outside. I had a 500mm lens on my camera and I was shooting Chinook as they were flying over. later when I got home I saw a crewman with this hands on a machine gun mounted on the side. made me take a note not to take pictures after a major thing such as 911

Oh this is so cool and wow on what Richard said! A10's used to fly training missions over here so low you could see the pilots, but I haven't seen them in years. I guess they closed that base. Bummer. They were so awesome to see. What a great capture, my friend!

Nicely captured, never heard that sound :) - We used to have many military ships and submarines here, where I live, but the base was more or less closed a while ago, too bad.

It's amazing how fast these big choppers can move. I saw one do a flyby at about 100 feet a few years ago - it was quite impressive, I must say!

Cool shot of her, Mike!

wow. how many times I walked down the gate of one of those things; It wasn't as exciting as bailing out the back of a C-130. good capture.
