Description
Hi There =) !
Thank you for the wonderful wonderful comments and favs and likes on my renders.
Miho was out testing the air engine on her big ATV up in the mountains. It was a cool day. She was going through a rough dirt track which had steep climbs and drops. The engine performed extremely well and the ATV was moving nimbly through it. And well she was testing another interesting thing she had help create. It was a compound that if mixed with a paint, etc would make that the surface completely unstickable, not even if you pored industrial strength super glue on it. Currently the paint job needed to be done with a special process. On this ATV the compound had been added all over and well even with the tires crusted in mud, the body looked spotless and the paint maintained its look. She knew it would save millions of gallons of water around the world every year that is used in washing the exterior of our vehicles, etc. If the car looked spotless for years on end and as good as new, why would you bother washing the exterior ? She and her company were still doing research to increase the compounds life time to more than 25 years and also combine it with other things. But at the moment she was enjoying her drive through the challenging track. She would look at the data on the engine and special compound once she got back to her lab.
About this render:
Starting with the sand in my last render, I have started using very realistic ground textures. This is the second one. Just look at how realistic the dirt track looks. Changes the feel of the render. One of the reason I really love iborg64's work with Vue. His renders look very real. The textures I am using have proper displacement map. They are 8K textures so there are a lot of details in them. To create this scene, I use 2 hill props and a plane. The foreground hill prop I added the dirt track texture, on the background hill prop I added a rock texture and changed the diffuse color to a brownish color to separate it from the foreground. I then placed the plane at the near the bottom and added a water texture to it to add a river flowing through the scene and to create depth.
To get the tires entrusted in mud, I added and mixed a few shader nodes.
- 1 tire texture diffuse node
- 1 dirt texture map diffuse node with the color set to something picked up from the foreground ground texture.
- 1 dirt texture map diffuse node with the color set to something a bit darker.
That gave me a nice multi tones mud covered tires that matched with the ground texture. But the tire surface was still too smooth. So I added another diffuse node with a asphalt texture map and set it as an inverted bump map. That gave nice indents on the tire making it look like it had a rough surface.
Hope you all like the render !
