Description
Each captured at two separate sites way back on 2/12/07. Evidently in dire need of replacement. Is that any way to observe our country's heritage? Hopefully they were replaced with fresh red, white and blue Stars and Stripes since the time I snapped them.

The sun bleached appearance shows these folks have been proudly showing the flag for many years. Old flags with long histories. But yes, even old flags need replacement. Interesting to see the effect of years of sun on the cloth and color. Keep up the good work! :-)

Good find Harry. Time to buy a new flag and retire the old...in a dignified manor. Wish more people paid attention to this.

I assume these are tough shots to get, because the flags are so bleached and almost ghosts. But you captured the ghost-like presence perfectly in both; and the background 'frames' them so they look owned, protected, honored. I agree that this is disrepair; but I also agree with T.Rex's comment that this shows love too, because these owners have been showing their flags for years. There's something endearing about that. With Denise, excellent documentation, and the handling of the ghost-like light, and the compositions, are fine work all around.
