APO-7x-Photo Filter Burning left over straw after harvest is considered a low cost solution alternative to tilling it, so fields can be made ready for seeing the following Spring. Thanks for the looks and comments, both are appreciated very much.

The burning also adds nutrients to the soil. Pasture grasses (harvested as hay) always grow better after a burn. This is a fantastic representation of "the burn".....

Burning off is all good; we are living on the rim of a long ago extinct volcano, the soil is so absolutely fertile and our fruit and vegetables couldn't be happier - plus the fact that our Aboriginals have been doing it (burning off) for the last 4000 years ! Even some of our sugarcane farmers still doing it - and that's how you get brown sugar (!) and that's what we always tell the very young kiddies - LOL ... thanks for your valuable info and interpretation, the fractal-way, it's looks absolutely believable Glenda !
