Description

Worth reading ! This is the preface to one of my favourite old books, a Collins Graphic English Dictionary probably dating from the 1880's, as it belonged to my Great Grandfather. My mother and I used it for Scrabble for years and it finally fell apart. I had it rebound and during the process the front title page was lost and with it the definite date of publication I just love this passage here, and the care with which it was composed! It is a wonderful source of words which have passed out of usage, which I find to be of great interest.

Fascinating. A relic from our distant past perhaps? I tried changing the page by swiping left but nothing happened. I think my computer may be broken. And what is this "book" it keeps referring to? Some ancient computer?

And here I am making smart remarks while listening to the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach. Talk about obsolete.

I am a compulsive reader, so this caught my eye. Of course I read every word! It sounds like an invaluable resource. Mine is now Google, but I'm sure your book contains information that hasn't made it to the internet. Wonderful!
