The Beautiful Plume, Amblyptilia acanthadactyla. It certainly is very beautiful ! It was sitting on my front door.

My father once described me as a font of useless knowledge not worth knowing. So this is an example of that which proves the point. Looking at this beautiful and unusual moth I was reminded of a 1909 Bleriot XI airplane manufactured by the aviation pioneer Louis Bleriot.
