Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Marilyn, I know you posted pics just this week, but I'm behind on several from before, so I'm just jumping-in and trying to catch up. I'm only doing a small number in the galleries this week (for time and other things going on right now), but when I return I'll do a lot more. But at least I want to comment on some of the pieces you've been posting in the last couple of months.
I'm with the comments above, I thought this was a terrific shot. ("thought"---past tense---as I saw it about a day after you posted it.) It just hurtles down from the top of the shot, and flares out like a big monster on stilts. Wonderful motion from top to bottom. And the light is almost dissolving and mystical. It's a wonderful sight, to be sure; but your eye captured the muscle and huge flare of its lower torso, and the way the trunk flares out like pillars to a deep mansion. Really well seen---beautiful work. You're so at home with these environs, you shoot them as if they were your close friends...
