(This is a close-up render version of Baleen Whales (Part I). In the chapter "Cachalots et Baleines", the Nautilus comes on a pod of baleen whales. Ned Land, who's life is hunting whales wants a chance at them but Nemo won't allow what he calls the murderous destruction of an inoffensive creature. Just a few minutes later a pod of cachalots, sperm whales, come along. Nemo call these "terrible animals" that should be exterminated and proceeds to massacre them with the Nautilus. To modern ears Nemo's lecturing Ned Land about the ecological chain of life sounds hypocritical when he proceeds to slaughter the sperm whales. In this alternate telling, Nemo and his daughter enjoy the antics of the baleen whales and in the following scene she will stay his angry hand as they view sperm whales, and educate him about the ecology of the natural food chain. The whales are Digital I's Humpback. Nemo is M4 with a custom face and the Mateo skin texture, G3 Whiskers mod'd for M4, and Estio Curls hair from DAZ. His uniform uses the pants from the US Cavalry Pack, and the M3 Poet shirt (DAZ). Nemo's daughter is V4 with the Emma Lee texture and Edwardian hair (DAZ), wearing the Edwardian Boarding Suit skirt (DAZ), Hongyu's shirt, and the Gunslinger vest. Zoe is forever the Millennium Cat. The submarine is my Nautilus. The environment is the RD Ocean 2 and Flink's Skies. The seabirds are from Hivewire3D flock formations. The scene was composed and rendered in Poser 11 Pro with SuperFly and post-processed for splashes in PhotoShop and Corel Photo-Paint.
