She may not be the brute that I've heard rumors is being developed, but I don't need to build something big, clunky, and armored. She's human sized, so she can use the same protective gear humans can." ------ It's a little grainer than I like, but after 6 render attempts over the last week before I finally ditched most of the fireflies (not noise, actual fireflies)...and 24 hours of rendering, this is what's getting posted. I got some real good advice out of http://forum.runtimedna.com/showthread.php?101671-Reality-4-1-1-Render-Settings -- most of what I'd read for Reality and LuxRender led me to believe that CPU acceleration was great. I found that it wasn't doing what I thought it was with acceleration on, as I wanted Metropolis and Bi-directional (which doesn't actually work and gets converted to mono). And no matter what light settings I kept playing with, all of them emissive before finding the article, I had a good 20 fireflies, instead of the 2-3 I have left in the image. So, I turned off CPU acceleration (GPU wouldn't work due to memory limits and it wasn't until this article I figured out why) and the renders weren't much slower and if I'd given it another day or so, might have been really nice. But, my computer has some other tasks and I'm feeling impatient.

Part of why I went with Reality for this render was that I could not get Iray textures to take to certain aspects of the V4 Machina material, such as the brain glow. Actually, come to think of it, none of it would "stick" and the Undo history didn't even reflect that it applied. So, Reality engine it was.
