I did a small amount of work with Poser way back when it was new. Honestly, I was amazed by what you could do with just that program and the stock characters. I did a bit of illustration and posted to Renderosity before it was called Renderosity. It was "something" 3D, I think...LOL Anyway, those images are long lost to the server.
Recently, I was traveling and decided to try my hand with the new Daz Studio software. I was floored by just how many options are now available for creating with 3D models. So, here I am...once again playing with characters. My renders are primarily tests of all the new and cool props, morphs, shaders, and environments. I get the most enjoyment by creating new characters based on either the Genesis 2 or 3 models. Hopefully, I'll have some ready for sale soon!
As always, thanks for looking!

Your work is fantastic!
It seems many, both pro and amateur, have tried to capture the younger characters but never to quite seem to.
Your characters have that child/adult 'betweeness' down to a tee.

Thanks for such praise. I think "to a tee" is still a ways off. But, I am happy with the results that I've been getting lately. Most of the child to teen morphs that I've tried in the past, look more like squashed adults. So, I'm glad to be progressing. What I find the most difficult is that Genesis base models are all designed to be age 20ish. So, what looks really good at first, often looks wrong when it renders. For every one that works, I probably make 10 that don't...LOL I find that I have to go somewhat caricature in details to get enough of a change in the look. However, it only takes a tiny bit too much to go from realistic to cartoon. Thanks again!

Excellent character ! Personally I go 100% for the anime look on my chars ;) , but I think you did a really great job here, her face looks more "plausible" than most G3 characters we see out there. And I don't know how tall you mad her, generally I think all Daz figures are too tall by default (as good as they are), but here it looks very good.
EricBSTL
Her height is the same as the standard figure. However, you can scale her down by about 10% to get a more likely height for a teen. I have this issue for both my teen-ish and Asian characters. They just don't all have supermodel height like Victoria. It doesn't seem to matter much until you want to put them in a scene where scale is important, or with another character.
Mainly, unless I can figure out all the new figure bones, it's easier to scale after the character is all loaded. If I try to do it to the original morph mesh...look out....some crazy mutant things start to happen as soon as any limbs are moved...LOL
