Exquisite blues---luminous. And the deep reds of the violin are splendid, against them. The black and reddish-tan shapes in the background are almost 'abstract shapes': they make a wonderful abstract background to the 'main' parts of your paintings (ie, the violin and the chairs). And your brush strokes are, as always, rich and deep, esp on the violin and on parts of those chairs. You obviously love music, musicians, and musical instruments; and honestly? I've seen very little art that celebrates all 3 as deeply as yours does. This is a simple painting of a 'violin', yet it radiates and pulses, and also gives a sense of peace. A beautiful vital work, Jock. As always.
