Accustomed to receiving tourists, Durango is a pleasant city, with many hotels, restaurants and bars. Old buildings, such as the General Palmer Hotel, make it possible to find a rich past while continuing to accommodate travelers. This name of Palmer deserves to be remembered: at the very beginning of the company, this former Civil War general was president and one of the great developers of the company of Denver and Rio Grande, who opened many lines in the Rockies in the XIXth century.

Awesome picture with the reliable old western style buildings !

One can imagine horses tied to the railing instead of the modern day bikes.
