Stage right contains both the stage manager’s position and the prop box. The stage manager’s table with the light on is to the left. The prop box is partly visible to the far right. Rex, still alive here, is standing by it wearing his red shirt. Rex was last scene passing through the door in the room scene into this area, and he ended up dead in the prop box after the scene was over. The question is when did that happen. There was about a ten minute period before Nick took up his position at the stage manager’s table to start act three. Susan the light girl had an interesting suggestion that something illicit was going on and Rex interfered and got killed. That all would have had to happen in just ten minutes. Maybe. Now Nick the stage manager who can see the prop box from his position insists that nothing at all happened there during act three. But light girl Susan says that just after the curtain went up for act three she thought she heard voices on the intercom and then it want dead for quite a while. And when it came back on it sounded like Nick was out of breath. But she added that it might have been her imagination. In both images there is a brick wall at the bottom of the image. On the other side of that wall is the dressing room corridor which runs from the stage entrance to the prop box area. You can actually see the prop box from the atage door. Remember that Ros says she was in the ladies dressing room sewing during all of act three. Did she go down the corridor and meet Rex at the prop box? But if so, Nick must have seen them..
