Description
K.D. took a summer job as an assistant at the local animal rescue shelter. The County Sheriff intercepted an illegal shipment containing a mother monkey, her baby and an adolescent male which all ended up at the shelter. K.D. was put in charge of the trio and it took all her concentration to keep up with them. They were loveable but mischievous. After two weeks she was exhausted and dreaming of sitting in boring classes in stuffy lecture halls while the professor droned on for hours.

I could sense the tiredness in K. D.'s expression even before I read the notes. Animals can be wonderful to look after, but also exact a heavy toll on one's energy!
