Wow what a capture. Whatever happened, it definitely looks like it was something violent and powerful. If not a truck maybe lightning? Looks like skid marks on the road though too. I think you're right. A truck hit it. Absolutely no broken pieces of rock visible though. So interesting!

A fascinating capture, Richard! It's most likely natural... The dark areas at the top of the indention seem to indicate seepage over the years, so it was probably cracked already. Don't know where the rest of it would have gone, though. Whatever the cause, it's a fascinating find.
