Description
King Crimson: Lizard
Night enfolds her cloak of holes
Around the river meadow.
Old moon-light stalks by broken ploughs
Hides spokeless wheels in shadow.
Sentries lean on thorn wood spears
Blow on their hands, stare eastwards.
Burnt with dream and taut with fear
Dawn's misty shawl upon them.
Three hills apart great armies stir
Spit oat and curse as day breaks.
Forming lines of horse and steel
By even yards march forward.

One word, epic! That's some very impressive work Steve...
Humans are such a violent lot...
steveHolden
Thank you. Humans may be violent but they did spawn King Crimson so there must be something good there.

This is an extremely well composed image. I confess I would prefer to see it without the unusual objects in the upper sky -- they give it an unnatural and unnecessary look of science fiction to my mind -- but even so there is no denying the suggestive power in this composition. Well done!

Thank you for your very supportive words. Whilst I understand your comments I just wanted to give the image a little twist and I wasn't quite sure how to get the words, "Three hills apart great armies stir" into the image. It was a close judgement call, though.

Thank you, my friend and good to hear from you again. At the moment I have problems with access to the Internet so my comments have been a bit sparse recently. I'm hoping to have things resolved by the 25/1/2017 but don't hold your breath. Great to hear from you again!
