Description

Many thanks to Russel C. at Sketchup Warehouse for this giant challenge! Fortunately he provided the parts free to anyone brave enough, or crazy enough, to restore it. All of the original parts (240) were in folders labeled with their prospective phase of construction : Chassis – Body – Interior – Suspension etc. & most importantly they were all parented to the same coordinates. It took 2 weeks to separate, name, reassemble & test. Damaged or unfinished parts were re-fabricated including the window frames, hardtop, hood, doors & windows. The wheels had to be modified to match the originals. Hubcaps were a real hassle! Finding graphics was long and tedious since most are either copyrighted with a watermark or are too small for suitable use. I fabricated or scavenged the door handles, side mirrors, windshield wipers & antenna. Also added the original “badging” and logo text. Staging, lighting, rendering & postwork took another 3 days. Now it looks like a shiny new toy!

Gawd, she is gorgeous! My folks had one almost like this only it was just the Galaxie 500 without the extras! My Dad said it was the best car he ever owned and he had owned a lot of different cars over the years. What will you do with this beauty? Sure would like to have on in my runtime along with my other stable of cars! A most magnificent presentation here! Bravo and many fine kudos!
