Don't feel discouraged because we all have different tastes in art and you can't please everyone. Mine tend towards male models which few people seem to have an interest in and don't get a lot of views, but you have a lot of talent and did well with what appears to be a tribute to the woman singing the song you posted. You have to please yourself if you can't please others.

I really enjoy the work you do, each piece is a little bit of you. All of us here who post work here, I think do it to express something in their life (feeling idea dream) that they cant do in the real world. Family will always love you but they may not always understand you, doesn't make them bad people, but that is why I appreciate all of the artist here, we are our own digital family that does understand what goes into our work.

Do not worry about the jealous who criticize you severely! Your illustrations come from your heart, you have the right to express your taste whatever they are !!! Art is a continent of freedom and ... all tastes are in Nature !!!

This is beautiful! I can sympathize with you on the family and friends thing. When I start to talk to anyone about what I'm doing they smile and their eyes glaze over until I shut up. I have to admit I do the same thing when my daughter starts up on the latest roll playing character she has created or my sister and Mother start to rehash the last UK basketball game. We each have our own interest and unfortunately most people don't understand what is involved with 3d art. At least we have places like Renderosity where we can display our efforts and know it will be appreciated by people who know what it took to make it.

Hi Kimberly. Love the piece. She reminds me of some of the classic singers like Josephine Baker or Eartha Kitt. Don't change how you do things just to keep people at ease or seek their favor. You only live once. Do what you want to do and be happy for it. Those who don't love your art probably never will understand, and those who do love your art wouldn't need any further justification.

I don't think other people can truly understand how an artist feels about their art, it's not just a hobby or expression it's part of you, a very important part. As long as you don't give up you will always find like minded people who love what you do. Beautiful image, it has a wonderful richness to it.

Your artwork is stunning and beautiful, my friend! Never let anyone take that away from you. I've felt the same thing many times - my "family" (what's left of them) couldn't care less about my art or photography. And sometimes I get a little discouraged that I can't seem to get more than 15 - 20 comments here most of the time. But the thing to remember is you have to please yourself before you can please others. And that is one of the most important things about this thing called "art." It is and should be something that pleases you, the artist.

Keep right on doing what you do - and you do very well. :-D

This is beautiful work. Among other things, it's great to see artists who don't think that every character has to be shaped like Barbie.

Wonderful character and great composition and excellent choice of colors and textures - it all comes together for a stunning creation!!!
