Description

The hotel Sonesta Posadas del Inca is located on the grounds of a 18th century monastery in Yucay, in the Valley of the Incas, Peru. The altitude of the town is 9,373-ft and it is surrounded by the Andes. The architecture of the hotel is in Spanish Colonial, thus emphasizing its historical link. The individual buildings are interspersed with beautifully maintained flower beds and a water fountain. The hotel has a chapel, and a restaurant, where I ate Alpaca. Because of its altitude the night sky is studded with what seems to be a million stars, but because of the altitude it also gets pretty cool at night, despite the fact that the area is in the Tropics. Beautiful photo of the place. I assume you used a somewhat long exposure, considering the lamp lights and the color of the mountains. Are the buildings the actual monastery, or are they a "remake"? Lucky you to have been able to visit places like this. Looking forward to more photos from this trip! Keep up the good work! :-)
