Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

You are right, Andrea. I often think how lucky we are. Also when I dive into my warm bed in the evening. I always say loud. "Thank you for my bed, I wish everybody had such a bed like mine" Yes I get dizzy just looking at your photo :D

So very true Andrea.
Never realized there was so many choices in the oil and vinegar section.
There is so much we take for granted without realizing it until it is pointed out to us.
Wonderful collection of books on your shelves and intricately lined up in the open tv. area.
You are so clever and creative Andrea.

You reminded me of a scene from the 1980 movie "Moscow on the Hudson" starring Robin Williams. It tells the story of a Russian circus musician who defects in New York City. Someone sends him to the grocery store for some coffee. He finds himself in the coffee aisle, two solid rows of coffee. He ends up fainting. And with all the choice we have the store is usually out of the one thing I need.

Very true Andrea. We take so much for granted. I have to admit, I only drink bottled water - and it so cheap here. At the vending machine 25 cent/gallon. Bottled water at the commissary on base $3.29 for 24 bottles. I cook with tab water.
