Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Wonderful picture of this interesting and complicated intersection Andrea.
The strewn leaves look really neat following the yellow lines.
Great timing, thanks for sharing.

Our council amongst other things have decided they cannon clear the leaves away. I am just wondering how quick they will change their mind when someone falls & sues!!!!

If I hadn't read your description of this corner, I would think it is harmless. It looks very quiet and residential. But since you live in the area you know better and sometimes the safest looking places are the most dangerous!

I can believe that about the untimely incident

A dangerous road and here the leaves are doing their best to cover up the lines. I wonder if Mother Nature has it in for us?

with Junge1, I wouldn't necessarily know this is dangerous until you told us. Though, with the cars whooshing by (partly blurred for speed), it's clear one wouldn't want to run into that main street. I also love Helle's "crispy road": Reminds me of the Python's "crunchy frog," lol...As a photo, this is exciting. Because you have those standout yellows and some saturated oranges against that blue-toned dark-charcoal street. The blues with the yellows and golds are striking, and you bring them out strongly here. (Blue and gold are close to opposites on the color wheel, thus complementary/contrast, as I'm sure you know well. I picture you teaching these things as your students explore color contrasts.) Vivid standout hues here against all that dark street. A real eye-popping capture.
